The 5th Young Scholars’ Conference on China Studies will be held on 18 - 19 December 2017. This conference aims at offering a great opportunity for postgraduate students and young faculty members to build up a stronger professional network in China Studies to better facilitate their research and future development.
The organizers of the Conference are from different departments in Hong Kong Baptist University, including China Studies Programme, Institute of Creativity, Advanced Institute for Contemporary China Studies and Master Programme of Social Sciences in Contemporary China Studies. Co-organizers of the Conference include School of Humanities and School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University (Beijing), Asia-Pacific Cluster for Chinese Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Queensland (Australia), Institute of Taiwanese History of Academia Sinica (Taipei), and Asper School of Business of the University of Manitoba (Canada).
Moreover, it is a great honour for us to invite Professor CHAN Kam Wing (Department of Geography, The University of Washington) and Professor LIU Shouying(School of Economics, Renmin University of China) to speak respectively on “Urbanization with Chinese Characteristics: The Hukou System and Migration” and “Structure and Changes of China's Land Institutions”.
Paper presentations will be addressing the“New Orders in Global Politics and Economics – The Challenges and Opportunities of China Studies” through one of the following themes:
Economics, Geography, Sociology, History, International Relation Studies, Language Studies, Educational Studies, Cultural Studies, Business and management, Sinology.
第五屆中國研究青年學者研討會將於2017年12月18至19日在香港浸會大學舉行。本次會議旨在為研究生和青年大學教員提供一個更好的機會，在中國研究的範疇中建立更強大的專業網絡，以更好地促進研究和未來發展。
是次會議參與單位包括香港浸會大學中國研究課程、創意研究院、當代中國研究所及當代中國研究社會科學碩士課程主辦，並由清華大學人文學院和社會科學學院，以及中央研究院臺灣史研究所、加拿大曼尼托巴大學阿斯佩商學院和澳洲昆士蘭大學華商研究中心協辦。同時，很榮幸大會邀請到美國華盛頓大學陳金永教授和人民大學經濟學院劉守英教授作為主題演講嘉賓，分別與各位學者交流“中國特色的城鎮化：戶口制度與人口流動”及“中國土地制度的結構與轉型”的研究成果與心得。
這次研討會以青年學者為主幹，會議主題為「環球政經新秩序–中國研究的挑戰」，討論範圍包括：經濟﹑地理﹑
社會學﹑歷史﹑國際關係﹑語言文化﹑教育﹑文化﹑商業管理﹑漢學等方面。
